ACOG Provides Funding for New CNG Trucks to Support Sustainable Waste Management
[El Reno, Oklahoma] — The Oklahoma Environmental Management Authority (OEMA) is proud to announce the acquisition of four new compressed natural gas (CNG) waste management vehicles, funded in part by a grant from the Association of Central Oklahoma Governments (ACOG). The grant has enabled OEMA to purchase a side-load CNG truck and a front-load CNG truck and two roll off CNG trucks, further advancing the organization’s commitment to sustainable and efficient waste collection services.
The addition of these trucks to the OEMA fleet represents a significant step forward in environmental stewardship. CNG vehicles produce fewer greenhouse gas emissions than their diesel counterparts, reducing the environmental impact of waste collection. The new trucks also align with OEMA’s mission to prioritize environmentally responsible practices and reduce operational costs associated with traditional fuel usage.
“ACOG’s support has been instrumental in helping us achieve our sustainability goals,” said David Griesel, General Manager of OEMA. “These new CNG trucks not only lower emissions but also reflect our dedication to providing cleaner and more cost-effective services for our communities.”
The funding for these vehicles is part of ACOG’s ongoing efforts to support local governments and public organizations in adopting cleaner technologies. By encouraging the transition to alternative fuel vehicles, ACOG is helping Central Oklahoma reduce its carbon footprint and improve air quality for residents.
Both the side-load and front-load CNG trucks are equipped with state-of-the-art technology designed for efficiency and reliability. The side-load truck will enhance residential waste collection, while the front-load truck will improve service for commercial and industrial clients.
